Aathmaanaam's Event - நிகழா நிகழ்வு - Page 69

The Event that did not happen

As a single entity
a solitary cloud
aggregated and arose
inside me
dreams disconcerted
I woke up once again
A memory played
A dance started
A drama debuted
An event froze

A moment in time moved existentially

As a single entity
a solitary cloud
aggregated and arose
inside me

Note:  A Magical Mayhem?

  2. Dad's version

    An incident that never occurred

    Alone
    erupted
    a single cloud within me
    as dreams fizzle
    once more
    I awoke
    a thought
    a dance begins
    a drama enacted
    an incident sculpted
    moved in its seat
    for a second

    Alone
    erupted
    a single cloud within me.

This title erases, that whim of a delight that sets in briefly but departs even more quickly. Oh! Those divine moments, how does he begin to list them? And even more pertinently, how is his awareness so mindful of them?
The difference in the translation between you and dad is stark in this poem…makes me wonder how we all read? How unique is our own acts of reading and rendering?
