Ambience
Like an erect manhood
the trees stood erect
facing the sky
Continuously following
and witnessing us
The lake was waiting for us in solitude solitude ...
The rocks were in dialogue with us
with you
in a languageless language
This lake's movement is neither mine nor yours
it is this lake's
Why can't we be lakes
Without movement
facing the sky
talking to the rocks
Note: A feel good poem that calls for living together with nature
Like an erect manhood

The lake was waiting for us in solitude solitude ...

Dad's Version
ReplyDeleteSITUATION
Trees that stood erect
looking at the sky
shall follow us
as witnesses.
For us, the lake was waiting in solitude solitude ...
The rocks were in dialogue with us
with you too
in a languageless language
This lake's movement is neither ours not yours
It is the movement of the lakes
Why should we not be lakes
With no movement, looking at the sky, talking with the rocks
The note by Brammarajan at the end of the poem is peculiar. I wonder what is Kalyanaraman's take on this?
ReplyDeleteI feel like this poem is a lot like Brammarajan. But I do all these strange influences oozing through the book.
I like this poem for how delicate it is...and how it pines for nothingness through shape and form in nature. I can imagine this moon-lit (stonned) night of the poets and their collective word play.
